Something That Annoys Me...

Something that annoys me about certain sci-fi writers, sci-fi movies, sci-fi video games and armchair astronomers:


It's jarring how many times these terms get mixed up, and by people who ought to know better. It's not a meteorite if it burns up in the atmosphere or hits the atmosphere at such a shallow angle that it goes shooting right back out into space, damn it.

Also, meteoroids aren't meteors. If it's cruising along somewhere between Mars and Earth, it's still a friggin' meteoroid.

Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
