| Okay... so we've got Book, Movie and now, we have Game!! These can be any and all game platforms, paper based, board based, anything! If you've got a game to rave about or a game to rant about, simply put it up here and we'll talk about it! Okay... this may be an old game but I'd like to rave about The Sims 2 on PS2. (yes, I still have one of those) I know that it may be a very simply based game, but its rather more complex than people are led to believe. The tasks you have to complete, while repetitive, are soothing in their own way and a few hours go by before you even notice it. Best of all, its a game that you can pause or save or quit at any time. Even if you're in the middle of something because likely or not, you'll remember exactly what you were doing and which strategy you were playing when next you start it up. So its not one of those - "just until the next level" or "I can't just yet, I'll forget what I'm doing" or "its too hard, can't I just skip this bit?" So, I would say its a delight to play. A way to escape without that madcap world of racing, or FPS games or the maddening of the puzzle type or platformers. I would recommend, even to the boys, this game to play. Most especially if you're bored and got nothing else to do. Here's a wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sims_2_%28console_game%29 | |

| I could never get into the Sims, be it simcity or the latest version of 'Sims'. I mean, was there a point to it besides, 'get stuff/ make stuff' ? I always preferred RTS games, Warcraft, Spacecraft, Command and Conquer, etc. Those involved strategy, planning, combined tactics and a touch of role play. WOOHOO! | |

| Final Fantasy and Lufia had to have been my all time favourites. I mean, well, the SNES versions of them. I just loved them!! I can't get enough of them!!
Halo 1 and 2 are high on my favourite lists too... and I find myself into the simulation/strategy type games like Empire Earth and Age of Empires.
I play an eclectic bunch of games, so I know where you're coming from cos they're all good games too!!

| I haven't played that one yet, as I don't have the right consoles, but I want to. I've played Morrowind on both PC and Xbox. So... yeah... I agree, Oblivion MUST be good. | |

| Its an RPG, but closer to GTA then Final Fantasy. You can do pretty much whatever you want, and be just about whatever you want. I for instance have an Orc Battlemage (among many many other characters) its great fun, and the world is huge. | |

| Its one of those Open Ended things. You have a set quest you can follow -- that'll finish the game but it has many many outcomes itself depending on what you do or choose -- as well as side quests up the ying yang. So... yeah... massive RPG. Its like an MMORPG (a really good 3D one, that is) -- except its one player and you only have to pay once for it | |

| I've seen God of War, but never played it myself. I do not have a Wii, segs, PlayStation or anything of the sort. I won't either. My computer is enough of an addiction to me. Oblivion IV sounds interesting, but what was Oblivion I through III? | |

| Its not actually called Oblivion. That's the IV name. Its "Elder Scrolls". I know that III was called Morrowwind though I wouldn't have a clue for the first or second. I belive you can get it on PC too And Kalika, yes I've heard of God of War, seen it but never played it. Apparently Shadow has and he swears until he's blue that its the most fantastic game ever. I shall trust both your judgements and when I have the time and money, purchase it and play it for myself! | |

| Nope. You can always start out with a new character. But I think there's a feature where you can use a character with that stats from that last game. But that doesn't apply to you, I suppose | |

| i believe theres a mod you can download to allow importing a former character.
no good for me, being as i have it 360, though i do have the battlehorn castle mod (among many others) that i got off xbox live. Oblivion and Morrowind are pretty much tied for my favorite game of all time.

| I once played Fable -- and fell in love with it. Unfortunately, my Xbox is bust and I can't get it repaired and even though they're as cheap as pie, I still can't afford a new one. Ugh.
I played a demo of the new Kingdom Under Fire on 360 and that looked awesome. Repetitive, but awesome.

| fable was excellent, but it was not the elder scrolls killer it was touted to be. i had Kingdom Under Fire:Crusaders on my old Xbox and they are quite repetitive, but not as repetitive as Dynasty warriors | |

I shall trust both your judgements and when I have the time and money, purchase it and play it for myself! I can't believe that I'm just now finding this topic. I'm a pretty big fan of the Elder Scrolls series. The series, in order: The Elder Scrolls: Arena (I have it.) The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (I have it.) The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (I have it.) The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (I have it.) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (hasn't been released yet; should be launching this year.) There were a couple of other Elder Scrolls games outside the series, less RPG and more action-adventure. Each was intended to be the start of a separate series, neither of which took off: Elder Scrolls Legends: Battlespire (I have it.) Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard It's pretty much my little tradition that, in every Elder Scrolls game, my first character is always a female Nord Barbarian. It also seems to be tradition that I never finish the main quest; Battlespire is the only Elder Scrolls game that I have finished successfully, if only because it's a pretty linear game. The games from the main series just have too much to do, and I always get distracted from the main quest by fifty-billion little side quests. Maybe I'll get back on Oblivion and finally finish that one's main quest, too. I've already shut down about 20 Daedric gateways, so why not? Morrowind and Oblivion also have three expansion packs apiece, and each expansion pack has its own main quest as well. So if I do want to call Oblivion well and truly done, I'm going to have to finish Oblivion's main quest, Knights of the Nine's main quest and Shivering Isles' main quest. That could keep me busy for a while, and it's hard enough to find time to play as it is.... Nord Barbarians are pretty tight, though. I had gotten well through Morrowind's main quest (after getting recognized as the Nerevarine of prophecy and all), and I ran my barbarian into a cave full of naked, disease-crazed dark elf cultists...fifty-billion of the bastards, half men and half women. They all beat my barbarian with clubs over and over, and eventually all of her armor broke off. Even with their clubs, they couldn't do enough damage to overcome her natural toughness and Health recovery. So then their clubs all broke. And then her battle axe broke from hacking them all down. So then I had a whole bunch of butt-naked dark elves punching up my butt-naked barbarian, who was slapping and kicking them around too. To tell you the truth, I was kind of aroused by the whole spectacle. Having the nude mod installed helped. Hey, don't look at me like that. Arena, Daggerfall and Battlespire all had full nudity (except for men's meat-and-potatoes, that is, but there were still enough skyclad manly bums to keep the ladies interested), so after Bethesda took it out from Redguard onward, it was up to the fans to uphold the tradition of putting nakies in Elder Scrolls games. And uphold it they did. But yeah, The Elder Scrolls is still all about hacking daedra faces with your Daedric war axe until they drop. Everything else is just a bonus. I still kind of miss the old Daedra Seducers, though.
