My take on Volbeat is: I think they are a pretty good band. Just found about them a month or two ago. They are a Hell of a lot better than that Hamster Dance song some jackass posted a while back.

Yeah, who was that douche face who inflicted that atrocity on us, anyway?
Also, I have to put something here, so have some Hisako's Theme from the new Killer Instinct:
Yeah, it's like Killer Instinct took the vengeful undead chick from The Grudge or The Ring or one of those other Japanese horror movies, gave her a naginata and told her to have at it.
Polearms need more love.
So do revenants.

...though I wonder if this should go under the Baddest-Ass Cartoon Intro topic too.
Too bad Adult Swim decided to be bastards about ownership and copyright to Brendon Small (the creative force responsible for about 90% of Metalocalypse), or we could have gotten at least three more seasons out of the series. Small tried to get around that blocking and finish the series by giving us the Doomstar Requiem rock opera (which nonetheless ends on a frickin' cliffhanger)...
...but it's just not the same.
(You should probably watch the entire Metalocalypse series to get a handle on what's going on. And 2:36 there has to be the most bad-ass depiction of seppuku that ever was. How many times do we see suicide in animation, anyway? )

Speaking of Dethklok (which trumps the Gorillaz for Best Virtual Band Ever), you may as well listen to these entire albums before some worthless jackhole with nothing better to do blocks-and-deletes them over YouTube's usual rampant Copyrightophobia.

So I just discovered Minniva, a Norwegian metal songstress who covers various other tunes. And she's adorable, always smiling and full of energy. Check her out!
Dio's "We Rock"
Nightwish's "Dark Chest of Wonders"
Nightwish's "Storytime"
Nightwish's "Last Ride of the Day"
Nightwish's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful"
Tarja Turunen's "I Walk Alone"
Within Temptation's "Paradise — What About Us?"
Amaranthe's "Digital World"
Kamelot's "Forever"
Kamelot's "The Haunting"
Stratovarius' "Hunting High and Low"
Dragonforce's "Through the Fire and the Flames"
Sabaton's "The Red Baron"
Sabaton's "Night Witches"
Sabaton's "To Hell and Back"
Sonata Arctica's "Full Moon"
Seventh Wonder's "Welcome to Mercy Falls"
30 Seconds to Mars' "This Is War"
Evanescence's "Lithium"
Evanescence's "Bring Me to Life"
Era's "Ameno"
Europe's "The Final Countdown"
Cyndi Lauper's "Time after Time"
"The Dragonborn Comes" from the game "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim"
"Let It Go" from Disney's "Frozen"
"What a Feeling" from the movie "Flashdance"
"The Sound of Silence" credited to Simon and Garfunkel (the original performers), though it sounds a wee bit more like Disturbed's retread.
...though alas, every rose has its thorn; Minniva also metalizes a few songs which are better off being non-metal, such as Toto's "Africa"...
...and "Over the Hills and Far Away," a song which has apparently been around in some form or another for centuries...
(...though to be fair, Nightwish metalized it first...)
...but it's still better as non-metal, in my humble opinion.
(Also, Patty Gurdy's pretty well adorable too. And is the hurdy gurdy one heck of a music instrument or what? )
Yet Minniva did have the good sense to leave Evanescence's "My Immortal" non-metal, so there's that.
What do you think?

Well, we can rest assured that, if the whole of human civilization is ever scoured away by nuclear fire, at least the survivors would get some wonderful metal music and a rainmaker machine out of the deal.
So thanks for that too, Robert Oppenheimer.
And isn't it amazing how you can't tell men and women apart once you dress them up in radiation suits? Definitely not a fashion statement there!

These Burning Witches have potential, with their covers and their originals alike. It helps that they're easy on the eyes. Is that lead guitarist fiercely gorgeous or what?
And now, another episode of "Metal Tunes Gone Non-Metal!

It's not metal, but where has this song been all my life?!?
