Game of Address Swaps

So while I was shopping for my daily sustenance at the local Walmart, I happened across these First Series Game of Thrones "Mystery Minis" vinyl figures.  They're made by Funko and sold for around $6 apiece.  I bought two of them: One for me and, because GoldenDrakon was the only one cool enough to swap mailing addresses with me back when I was asking for character references during my job hunt, one for him too.  



I got Robb Stark.



Isn't he cute?  He's a little too brunet for my tastes...too fair-haired compared to his source...  



...but still cute.  



As you can see (from the list of Edition 1 minis and their rarity on the back of each box), Robb Stark's one of the more common minis; he shows up in 1 out of 12 boxes, give or take.  Khal Drogo and the glow-in-the-dark White Walker are pretty rare, popping up once out of every 72 boxes.  But Jaime Lannister (complete with missing right hand) and Drogon are the ones to beat, popping up once out of every 144 boxes.

Be sure to show us who's in your box when it arrives, GD.  

Are the rest of you sick with envy yet?  Then I guess you'd better send me a PM with your mailing address so I can send you a Mystery Mini too.  Bribery always works, right?

So according to a quick check of the USPS website, the package arrived on GD's doorstep at 2:33 PM today.

So how was it?

Oh, look at that.  I struck GD speechless!  He must have gotten Drogon the Dragon or some other really cool pick.

Neither can I. I figured he'd be back online by now. I might have to give him a phone call tomorrow and see what's going on.

Better believe it!  But do I sense an air of hesitation about you?  Is that why you disappeared for a week?  Really, your mini can't be that bad.  It's not like they included Theon Greyjoy, Walder Frey or Hot Pie in the series, right?

Okay, I called GD a couple nights ago, and it turns out that his phone went belly-up, so he can't take a photo of the GoT mini he got and show it here. I offered to mail a digital camera to him, but he turned me down. But as soon as he gets his photo capability back, he'll be back too.

(...and he'd better be sure to mention that sweet letter that I sent with the mini too, daggit. )

Once again, it's up to me to stir up some activity in here and save these forums, daggit.

The package arrived on the 23rd instead of the 22nd so it was just a day late.  I have opened it and took a picture of it.  If you wish to know what I got my demands must be met.

1.  First I demand that you pay me 1,000,000,000 dollars in Monopoly money.
2.  You must sign my petition that the theme song from Gilligan's Island be adopted as the new national anthem.  (You and GD remember where those demands came from don't you.)
3.  I demand that the one known as Golden Drakon post a photo or at the very least inform us of whatever figurine he acquired.
4.  Finally you must say please.

Only after my demands have been met will proof of figurine be released.  (Insert evil Laughter)

1. Only if you first spot me enough cash to buy 500,000 Monopoly games.
2. Okay. The new National Anthem of what?
3. That's in GD's hands. GD?
4. Oh, please.

Demand 4 has been met.  In a moment of pure kindness I will hold off demands 1 & 2, but I refuse to concede to demand number 3.  Golden Drakon I will not release the photo of the little statue until you do.  You better do so soon or The House of Aineley will be very upset and he might not post anything for at least a day or so.

Lies, all lies.  

Against my better judgement, I went out and bought another mini while I was replenishing my Arizona tea stockpile.  And fittingly enough...


But yeah, it would be cool if you guys would post too.  And you never did compliment my mad poetry skills with that note I sent, Drak.  Hint, hint.  

Still waiting for the D-man to post his little figurine.  Once he does I will post mine.  I mean its only fair he got his a while ago.  But so there is not too much suspense I will give a hint.

My figurine is a about 2-3 inches tall, it came in a box, and it is a regular in The Song of Ice and Fire book series.  Hope this clears things up.

Oh. It's obviously a White Walker, then.
