Hmmm...well, your two posts here are from around 6:30 AM (my time), and I figured that it would be evening for you...well, not quite midnight, though. Maybe about 8:00 or 9:00 PM your time, by my reckoning, but I may have been off too.

I might even fire up Windows' calculator, get around to doing that accounting jazz and figure out exactly where we might have had some confusion over Karnoz's starting equipment. Well, I'm up now, but I got drafted into helping one of my Dad's friends chop wood. Texas is expecting another cold snap, so we're hoping to sell a ton (or three); at least I'm getting half the profits for whatever we sell.

So I'll be tied up until about noon (six and a half hours from now). If any of you three are around, be watching for me on these forums and the chatbox. I've had a very busy week with the job hunts, and I'm eager for some Gametable goodness.

(Also, my typing speed has apparently gone up to 54 WPM/0 errors! Who knew? )

Okay...like I just PMed to GD, I'm still splitting wood and on my lunch break right now. But I'm going to cut my lunch break short and get back out there; we ended up cutting down four threes instead of the two we'd originally planned, so the sooner I get four trees reduced to firewood, the sooner I get "off the clock" and can come back to play catch-up with the HoA campaign.

And if any of you three are around, some more Wids-and-GD-style speed-posting might be in order. Who knows? Karnoz might just end up carving out Hennbauer's heart (or somebody else's heart, if circumstances shift Karnoz's aim elsewhere...) by sunset, if we get down to it....

I am around now, hopefully someone else will show and we can get this thing rolling tonight.

Okay, I'm back...and Godzookie, do I ache from head to toe now! 14 stacks of firewood so far, and we still have two more chopped-up trees to go. One of the trees happens to be a hickory tree, and Ken's convinced that we can charge a higher price for hickory wood; it smells better when it burns and lends a better taste to any meats smoked or barbecued with hickory.

The other three trees are (or were) oak, which is a strong and dense wood; oak's best use, of course, is for construction, not for burning. But when used for burning, oak is difficult to ignite but will burn low and slow, meaning it only takes a few good oak logs in your hearth to keep your living room warm all night. It's not so good if you want to warm a room up in a hurry, though; for that, you'd need to throw in some logs that burn hot and fast, like pine. Mix a few pine logs with a few oak logs in your fireplace, and you're ready to sleep through a long, cold winter night. And I wouldn't recommend oakwood for smoking or cooking, though, as oakwood smoke clings to everything and has a somewhat unpleasant odor and taste to it.

Anyway, that's my firewood babble for today. Time for me to get to work here.
